Two
DVD videos showing certified leaders conducting live parent groups of the
Incredible Years Parents and Babies’ Program. These DVDs show examples of
Session Five, Parents Learning to Read Babies’ Minds and Session Seven,
Babies Emerging Sense of Self (6-12 months) with parents and their babies.
These
8 DVDs are an opportunity for group leaders who are implementing the IY
Parenting Program to see the developer discuss her theory and rationale for the collaborative methods and processes underlying the successful group delivery of this program.
The DVD clips show Carolyn Webster-Stratton modeling how to mediate video vignettes, do benefits/barriers exercises, buddy buzzes, pull out principles, and set up role play practices. She explains how to work collaboratively with parents and tailor the program to the specific population being addressed so that it is meaningful and targeted at their goals.
The
Incredible Babies book shows you how to promote and understand your babies'
physical, social, emotional and language development. It includes safety
alerts, developmental principles, and a journal section where you can capture
and preserve your memories of your baby's likes and dislikes, favorite songs,
stories and daily routines.

and strategies for parents to promote children's social and emotional competence.
This is an amazing book that covers research-based parenting strategies
for all families. Positive discipline techniques are described in detail
illustrated with true-to-life examples. The Incredible Years covers strategies
to help parents prevent behavior problems as well as promote their children's
social and emotional competence. (Revised in 2006)
This
game is made up of two card decks, one used by the child and the other used
by parents. The adult and child each take turns asking a question while
the other answers. Use the 3-minute pig timer to limit the amount of time
for answers. Example parent deck questions include, "what do you like to
do best with me?", "what are two important household rules?", "what is the
best way I can help with your homework?", "what do you say to yourself to
stay calm?", "what is the hardest part about being a kid?", "what would
be the menu of your ultimate birthday dinner?" 
This
card game facilitates discussion between parents about parenting
strategies and goals. This game can be played with Incredible Years
parent groups or with friends, group buddies, or between partners.
During parent groups, it is suggested that leaders introduce the game
mid-way through the program and then play it again on the last night as
part of the final session celebration. Half of the deck focuses on the
foundational part of the IY pyramid and the other half comprises of
questions about handling misbehavior. Parents take turns asking each
other questions such as: "how do you find time to schedule some personal
time for yourself?", "what is the most fun thing you do with your
child?", "what is one way you used the attention principle
successfully?", "what are two behaviors you look for when doing
Incredible Years social coaching?", "what makes it hard for you to
praise your child?", "what goals have you set for yourself in regard to
parenting?"
These
small books are designed for parents and teachers to use with children in
small groups or one-on-one. (sold as set of four) 
This
timer can be used during child directed play. The parent can tell the child
how much time they have for the play activity and then set the pig timer.
The timer can also be used for the card games described above to delineate
how much time each person has to respond to a question. 
This
poster can be used to highlight how parents in Incredible Years parent groups
are investing in their children by playing with them, coaching social and
emotional skills, and praising and encouraging their child’s efforts. At
the start of each parent group, the group leader can ask the parents to
share a home activity they did with their child that they are proud of (this
can be done in buddy pairs or with the whole group). The activities can
then be written down on blank gold coins and placed on the piggy bank with
the Velcro backing. The coins with text included with the poster can also
be put up to illustrate a parent’s particular investment in his/her child.
The fundamental purpose of the Piggy Bank poster is demonstrate the concept
that when parents invest in their relationship with their child by playing
and caring for them, they have a bank account they can draw on when times
become more difficult and they need to impose a consequence. Moreover, this
investment in their relationship is a long-term investment in their child’s
emotional and social development. 
This
poster features a large image of a baby crawling and has Velcro siding to
attach neurons. The attachable neurons with text indicate methods by which
parents can strengthen the neuron connections used for building social relationships,
language and cognitive development, and emotional development. This poster
can be used by group leaders to explain the many ways parents are helping
the development of their baby’s brain. Since babies have over 10 billion
neurons at birth, each of which can make 100,000 connections, parents play
an important role in strengthening the most important connections that will
last over time. Some of the ways neurons are strengthened include – speaking
"parentese", eye contact, mirroring babies sounds and expressions, nurturing,
familiar rhythmic motion, baby proofing, predictable routines, baby aerobics,
reciprocal tango dance, singing songs and staying calm.
A
cap featuring the three reminders for promoting brain development. This
cap is adjustable and is a great way for parents to remind each other of
how they can promote their child's brain development.
Parenting
stickers with fun sayings that affirm positive parenting skills. There are
